Programs currently offered with the Nature on Wheels: Career outreach and development programs – the Nature on Wheels will visit career fairs to feature careers in parks and be included in our new internship and career development programs.Community Service events in Parks- make a difference in your community! Join us for Weed Warrior invasive plant removal events, stream and park cleanups, and native plant restoration efforts.Community Science events in Parks- be a part of real science happening in parks, from species identification and counts to biological monitoring and other STEM activities.Naturalist programs in Parks including creature feature s, native plant s, gardening for wildlife, watershed awareness, and other environmental interpretation and education programs,.What kinds of programs will be traveling with the Nature on Wheels? You can also request a program using the NOW Request Form to submit your request and we will reach out for reservation as staff and the vehicle are available. We are gradually rolling out new program offerings for the Nature on Wheels- Public walk-up programs and guide programs will be listed here. With a Naturalist stage and sound system built into the Nature or Wheels, we are able to bring programs to open spaces and large groups that are safely distanced. All programs can be tailored to suit the age and type of audience- from schools to scouts to libraries and senior centers – everyone wins when they explore nature! This natural science field station is built on a modified RV and provides a presentation stage, tools and equipment for science in the field that travels to parks all over the county- helping your group find and share your discoveries while learning about the unique nature all around you! With a focus on Community Science, Community Service, and Career Discovery we can help your group have a great team building activity that makes your community a better place.īased out of Locust Grove Nature Center, this new science field station will bring a variety of programming to the community and audiences where they live and play and provide special programs in parks that do not have nature facilities.
